Before
Christianity came into our land, the Kyongtsu (The Lothas)
Worshipped the God of the earth and the God of Sky in the form of
religious celebration, festivals
and feasts. In those days all
religious matters were performed under the leadership of the priest in
the village and the administration was in the hand of the Dungti
and
Chochang (Village Administrators).
Tokhu means going out in groups from
house to house, taking food and drinks. Emomg means the Halt on the
appointed
time.
Tokhu Emong is celebrated at the end of the year and closes
the religious celebrations of the year. The whole celebration takes
about one month.
